Hello, dear friend!
I think it’s been a busy time for all of us.
That includes me, of course.
We did get to Disney World last weekend, and the early morning fog was amazing. Here’s one photo.
And another, as more guests arrived at the park…
On Sunday, we went to Dinosaur World, a lesser-known attraction about an hour from WDW. The sign on the right side of the photo indicates how deep the water was during the floods that accompanied Hurricane Milton.
This week has included big, important changes.
I think I’m (finally) putting together a business model that will give me the time I need for more art & writing, but also the income needed. Fingers crossed!
Of course, I want to share this wonderful BlueSky post by Mark Hamill:
And then, one of my torn-paper collages from this week:
That’s a 3” x 5” card cut from heavy watercolor paper. The words and images were torn from an issue of “Yankee” magazine, and then I added two different kinds of gold glitter for sparkle.
I feel as if it’s important to remain positive, looking ahead to achieving goals and dreams. My art helps me do that.
The upcoming week will be busy, putting together a LOT of pieces to launch my new business model, but I’m optimistic. Everything about it fits my interests: art, writing, history, and sharing cool discoveries with friends.
But, for now anyway, I’m really pleased with how - personally and professionally - many things suddenly turned a corner this week. We have far more options than we’d realized, and that’s a relief.
This weekend, annual passholders (like us) are blocked out of Walt Disney World, to make sure there’s room for student groups (and others) taking advantage of the three-day weekend.
So, we’ll be looking for quirky, off-the-beaten-path places to visit… or perhaps we’ll just stay home and relax!
I hope you’re doing well, staying positive, and having fun.
Cheerfully,
